How Ace K-9 Academy Began

It all started with a dream – wanting to work with dogs and their owners. Sandra wanted to help dog owners understand and interact with their dogs more effectively.

Sandra understands dogs. She can read their body language and see what they are trying to communicate. No, she’s not a psychic – just a human being that has a remarkable ability with dogs.

For over 30 years Sandra has been volunteering for many organizations, some of which include: 1/2 way house for San Bernardino Animal Shelter in Big Bear Lake, the Board of Directors for the Pet Network of North Lake Tahoe, English Springer Rescue of America, the BEAR League, Wylie Animal Rescue Foundation and many others. Some of this volunteer time has been spent at the Placer County Animal Shelter helping abandoned or homeless animals be more suitable for adoption.

Sandra enrolled with Animal Behavior College and completed her certification in dog training, as an honor student, and began her journey helping dog owners educate their dogs. In 2003 she opened her doors to Ace K-9 Academy. ** The Academy is named after her beloved dog Ace, (pictured on the left above) who lived a long and happy life until he was 16. He was one of those special kind of dogs that learned easily and was very eager to please **

In the future we hope to offer more venues such as agility and AKC Rally to our class schedule.
